See How the Trial Works
Akira offers three free sessions — one Consultation & Level Check and two Private Trial Lessons. Through this structured process, you can experience our professional teaching method, see your progress, and receive a personalized learning strategy tailored to your goals. Apply today and start your journey with Akira.
Step 1
Consultation & Level Check (30 min)
We'll begin with a consultation to understand your learning goals, previous study experience, and how you'd like to use Japanese. We'll then conduct a level check to identify your current strengths, challenges, and what's holding you back. Based on the results, we'll explain how our lessons can help you overcome those challenges and achieve your goals. If you have prior learning experience and time, you may also be invited to take a short mini-test in advance. This step helps us create your personalized strategic curriculum.
Step 2
2 Private Trial Lessons (50 min/lesson)
Based on the results of your level check, you will work on preparatory assignments. By doing this input in advance, you can focus on output training during the lessons. Your instructor will also explain why the training methods are effective, drawing on the mechanisms of listening and speaking. This step lets you experience how our lessons lead to real progress.
Step 3
Your Strategic Curriculum
At the end of your 2nd Private Trial Lesson, your instructor will present a strategic curriculum outlining your one-year learning goals, based on your Consultation & Level Check and 1st Private Trial Lesson. Lessons are billed monthly with no long-term contract, so you can stop once you've completed your remaining lessons. Start your Japanese journey with a clear plan.
Book Free Consultation & 2 Private Trial Lessons
Please select a weekly day and time you can continue after your Free Trial. Lessons are held on the same day and time each week with the same instructor. Enter your preferred lesson times in your local time—we'll convert them to Japan Time (GMT+9) and check instructor availability.
Lessons are available on weekdays between 8:00 am and 9:50 pm (JST). For example, if you live on the U.S. West Coast (e.g. Seattle), a lesson at 7:00 pm on Monday (PST) is 12:00 pm (noon) on Tuesday in Japan (JST). You can also use the Time Zone Converter to find the best time for you.
After reviewing your application, we'll carefully match you with the instructor who best fits your learning needs and send you suggested schedules for your Consultation & Level Check and two free private trial lessons.
